No auction of Gandhi's 'last-written documents' at Christie's

The officers of Indian High Commission are currently engaged in discussions with the auctioneers Christie's on the modalities of acquiring the manuscript on behalf of the government of India.

The pressure mounted by the government of India on the Chirstie’s not to put Gandhi’s written documents on auction has resulted in the cancellation of the auction of the manuscript.

Now, the manuscript of a letter Mahatma Gandhi had written 19 days before his assassination will not be there for auction at Christie’s in London.
